Guess I'll make some Charleston locals upset so I'll stop my review. If you're still having trouble, check out. It's a combination of factors, the dogs, yes, they are outstanding, but the others in mt. You're the kind of kitsch that I love. I wanted a nice mayo based sauce for dipping ala Pommes frites, Belgian style. Jack's is always a good choice, but it is an especially good spot to bring people from out of town: unique setting, great food, lots of options, and different from anything else you'll find in the Charleston area! I enjoyed both hotdogs, but the Astro Dog was my favorite--I love their onion relish! Moved a little further away and have not been able to come by for some time. Happened to be in the neighborhood and was completely underwhelmed.
The creamy coleslaw had huge chunks of cabbage and hardly any dressing. I seriously don't get the bad reviews, I think some people might not understand that it's a hot dog restaurant, not a King St eatery but the quality is solid and we go there often with the kids. The fries were excellent and my only regret was not ordering a larger size. It was literally a piece of folded cheap egg in a generic hoagie roll with a little bacon and cheese that had been melted but was cold. Still super greasy but good.
Certainly not at their price point. Sticky tables, dirty soda machine, the menu board was old and obvious that the prices have repeatedly been recovered. It's a very solid choice for the family. Unfortunately, Jack's Cosmic Dogs, in my opinion is just not worth it. The hot dog was just pretty boring.
The Blue Galactic Dog was good as usual, but the Planet Dog was pretty skimpy looking and tasting. Then, week 5, they were not only out of tofu dogs, but also the veggie burgers too. We really wanted to like Jacks. The Blue Galactic Dog was good as usual, but the Planet Dog was pretty skimpy looking and tasting. The atmosphere is fun, service is quick and friendly, and the food is always great! All of the staff are so friendly! As locals we love this place.
It was literally a piece of folded cheap egg in a generic hoagie roll with a little bacon and cheese that had been melted but was cold. Other than that, nothing too special about these dogs. You can also search near a city, place, or address instead. I have read about making a Vegan Carrot dog but have never seen it on a menu. They just use regular grocery store hot dogs and buns. The couple of things that bolster them are their fries and milkshakes not to mention the speciality sausages. It's close to Boone Hall so we typically go after an event there.
We hoped this was a temporary blip in their ordering. Don't put veg stuff on the menu if you don't keep it in stock. There is a variety of toppings for their dogs. If you are really looking for a hot dog then it would be good for you. The pickle was good though! Have a little fun with it. A funky hot dog joint open since 2000 in Mount Pleasant that is cheap but amazing eats.
The first couple of times, it was great. This would be a fun place to bring out of town guest for lunch. It was 3 pm so it wasn't busy at all. I had a dog blasted up because I hate skimpy dogs with chili, cheese and yellow mustard. My nephew suggested it and while I can see it's for that age group, if you can appreciate a quirky atmosphere and want a really good hotdog with whatever toppings you can think of, Jack's is it! Ok Jack's Cosmic Dogs, how I love thee, let me count the ways: 1. I loved the theme and all the cool knick knacks they've collected.
Everything was cold and my cosmic dog barely had any sweet potato mustard on it. We have two kids and figured hotdogs would be great for them and I was excited the owner is from Vermont where my family lives. . It's pretty dirty in the dining room; tables, floors, counters, etc. The spicy mustard was the backbone of that dog.
P hot dog market with Johnny's, and Skoogies, and now Seppy's. Nothing great about the dog, nothing great about the bun, I found the sauce to be average at best. Service here is a bunch of kids, so it can go either way. Always thought it seemed unique and dated so it's probably an awesome one of a kind type place to eat.
